Think about that warm glow you feel inside as the late afternoon sun paints a room, that feeling of suspense as someone enters a dimly lit corridor, that wonder as the silhouetted figures make their way through the night.
The mood of a scene is shaped through collaboration in the crew, including the director, DP and lighting team.
Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 22, as we return to The Film Hub in Vista for Light the Scene. EMMY Award winners Michael Brueggemeyer and Jim JT Teiper will be demonstrating tips to get the right lighting to set the mood for your scene.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Jim will go over basic lighting equipment operation and how to light various scenarios.
This will be an interactive workshop, where you can operate some gear, and experiment with different techniques.
Mike will talk about the nuance of storytelling through specialized lighting techniques.
There will also be plenty of time to end with a story-filled Q&A.

For more than 3 decades, Jim has worked on countless projects, ranging from major motion pictures to 48 Hr. Film Projects.
One even earned him an EMMY.
Based in Oceanside, he and his Sprinter package continue serving clients in Orange County, San Diego & LA.

Mike Brueggemeyer makes his living as a Director/Cameraman in corporate video.
Working in corporate video requires broad general production knowledge, and having specific skills around communication, moving audiences, and getting things right the first time.
Mike is a seven-time EMMY winner. His production team, Amalgamated Grommets, has won six “Best Film” awards in the 48 Hour Film Project competition, three of which were selected in the top 20 films worldwide, and has also won “Best Director” for five of those films.
His films have screened at numerous festivals, including Cannes.
Mike is an active mentor to film students, helping them along their journey to such prestigious schools as NYU Tisch and UCLA Film schools.
His crew knows that when he walks onto the set, the vibe will be relaxed, the path forward will be clear, and they are about to create something truly amazing.
He is most skilled in making something great with limited budget, limited time, and a small crew - he is the quintessential indie film Director.
He works part time as a teacher, and has been mentoring young filmmakers for over a decade.
