How Great Productions Are Shaped Together

Every production tells its story twice—once during production, and again in the cutting room.
The edit is where performances are refined, pacing is discovered, stories evolve, and every creative department comes together to shape the final piece. The strongest films, commercials, documentaries, and digital content aren't created by editors alone—they're the result of collaboration between directors, producers, cinematographers, sound designers, composers, writers, VFX artists, and editors working toward the same creative vision.
Join San Diego Media Pros on Friday, August 14, 2026, for The Cutting Room Collaboration, an interactive workshop presented by Paul Giret of Sunnyside Motion Pictures. This unique session explores how every member of the production team can work more effectively with editorial—from pre-production planning through final delivery.
Through real-world examples and practical demonstrations, you'll gain insight into the editorial process and discover how decisions made on set directly impact storytelling, efficiency, and the finished product.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Whether you're directing a feature film, producing a commercial, shooting a documentary, recording sound, or creating social media content, you'll learn how collaborating with your editor can elevate every project.
This workshop isn't just about learning editing software — it's about understanding the collaborative process that transforms raw footage into compelling stories. You'll leave with practical techniques that improve communication, save time, reduce costly revisions, and strengthen every stage of production.
GET A PEAK AT VIRTUAL PRODUCTION
