On Wednesday, March 18th, 6-8 pm, SDMP returns to AleSmith Brewing to continue our always fashionable midweek-mixers.
AleSmith is where we held our first Mentor Hour!

And three amazing mentors will join us to share their knowledge and experience in the film and video production world.
Shawn Ferjanec is a senior editor and creative director known for combining cinematic storytelling with sharp editorial precision.
Mike Watson is a former news professional who now specializes in corporate, non-profit and government production.
And Wilson Large's broad career includes feature films and live production for national music events.

No charge for members or non-members. This event is a No Host bar. Students are welcome, but you must be 21 or older to purchase and consume alcohol.

Mentors
Shawn Ferjanec is a multi-award-winning senior editor and creative director with more than two decades of experience in film, television, and streaming marketing. After spending 20 years living and working in Los Angeles at the heart of the entertainment industry, he now continues his work from La Jolla, CA. He is known for crafting emotionally driven trailers, promos, and brand campaigns that combine cinematic storytelling with sharp editorial precision.
Over the course of his career, Shawn has collaborated with major studios, filmmakers, and creative agencies, helping shape high-profile marketing campaigns across theatrical, broadcast, and digital platforms. His work includes major motion pictures such as Mission: Impossible, Iron Man, The Hills Have Eyes, Alice in Wonderland, Michael Jackson’s This Is It, The Martian, Sweeney Todd, Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, and Joker, among many others. His campaigns span a wide range of genres and formats, from global blockbuster franchises to prestige television and streaming originals.

Mike Watson is Executive Producer and Founder of Video Approach. A seven-time Emmy award winner, he spent more than a decade chasing television news from hurricanes on the eastern seaboard to earthquakes on the west coast. At the CBS affiliate in San Diego, he directed commercials, PSAs, and half-hour programs. Eventually, he left the network life to serve corporate, nonprofit, and government clients with the skills he spent years mastering.
Wilson Large is a film and video professional with 37 years of experience, including 27 years working full time in the industry. His work spans writing, producing, directing, cinematography, editing, and live event production. Large has worked on four feature films currently in distribution and was instrumental in producing the pilot variety show The Cody Rivers Show for R.W. Goodwin (The X-Files, The Fugitive).
As owner of One World Communications, he has provided production and post-production services for hundreds of projects and live events featuring artists including Creedence Clearwater Revival, REO Speedwagon, Sammy Hagar, and Melissa Etheridge. Large continues to develop original film and comic book IP while remaining dedicated to storytelling.
